Review on Roman Carbide DC1842 Carbide Forstner Bit, 3/8-Inch by David Will

Tried to drill the 2-7/8” hole in end grain birds eye maple. It chattered and stuck. Chipped violently. No hole drilled. Destroyed what I was trying to drill.The bit arrived in the original package. Inside a much lager box. No packing or bubble wrap, with other items. The protectors on the bit points were outside the original packaging, laying inside the larger box. The bit felt sharp, but could have been damaged by the other items, during shipping.
