I use it with Yahboom Raspberry Pi RGB fan with optional LCD and it fits perfectly. The display is easy to read through the transparent cover. If you only have one case you can use the supplied Allen key and screws and installation is then pretty easy, I haven't tried it but I think other HATs like senseHAT will work, it works fine for normal operation as a passive cooler.
