So I bought two of these carburetors based on my positive experience with the new Edelbrock carburetor many years ago. I installed one on a 1979 GMC C-1500 Heavy-Half, a 350 V-8 I was upgrading and a second on my boat, a 351 Windsor inboard/outboard. I just didn't feel like fighting the old carburetors that came with these. So carburetors are easy to install. A vacuum plug is provided for the rear of the carburetor if your vehicle does not have power brakes. I found this odd since almost everyone has power brakes these days, so I should have provided a hose barb to plug into this port instead of a male connector (although that worked great for my boat). Paperwork said there should be a DVD in the box, but there wasn't one. These carburetors worked perfectly right out of the box with ONE exception; None of them let me set the idle low enough. I have all the vacuum ports in use or clogged and don't see any vacuum leaks anywhere, but I can only lower the idle enough so that the screw is no longer touching the carburetor control. I called the Edelbrock hotline thinking there must be an adjustment somewhere in the carb that I just didn't know about and was told I must have a vacuum leak. Not much help. I told them I have 2 of these and BOTH are showing the same issue/problem but they told me I must have a vacuum leak as the carb needs to be able to run low enough to stall. They suggested I fiddle with the mixture screws - but I don't see how that could provide the right solution and only cause my mixture to go bad, and I've never heard of messing with the mixture screws to get the idle to lower. Anyway - I like the product and will keep trying to idle them but - we'll see I guess. And - when you call the Edelbrock hotline - they give you the option to type or say 0 and they call you back - but that didn't seem to work. A"knit" and I told them about it. And this guy told me that they stopped shipping DVDs over a year ago. This is not a problem as there is a great guide on YouTube. However, I'm disappointed that I can't "scroll" any of these carbs. BOTH show the same phenomenon. But - I like the product no matter what.
