so I'm not very mechanically inclined so I asked my friend to install this. He spent 45 minutes on it and then gave up. He said it wasn't possible because the end didn't have threads to catch large screws and he couldn't fix the gap in the lock area. Not wanting to give up as this would be the ideal dog gate with a cat door I checked them out. I haven't even read the instructions. I read the yellow token and read that there must be a gap and that it works through pressure. So I went up to him and said maybe it shouldn't be threaded because it works through pressure. Of course he laughed at me and pretended to be a total idiot and said he couldn't last without threads. So I went back and pressure installed it myself in 5 minutes and got the usual, after that you were right. That's great. There are no baby gates to step through, the cat can get in and out and because they are adjustable they fit our door which is smaller at the bottom than at the top. Girls rule, boys drool!
