To save someone else some serious time, here are a few things to look out for. A pump is made in the Czech Republic, not China, so that's good. As others have pointed out, the wiring connection isn't the same as on a factory Ford truck (possibly on other cars as well). The Ford connection is an impeller and the new pump is a threaded boss. The kit includes the necessary grommets for installation. But there was absolutely nothing on the pump or instructions to indicate which wire went to the threaded lugs. So I chose what seemed logical to plug it in. The original Ford block had a large shovel and a small shovel. The new unit had one big eye and one small eye. So I tied a big shovel to a big spike. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. After much frustration and diagnosis, I found out it was the other way around. Big shovel to a small ledge. Also check your ECM and fuel pump relay. I had corrosion in it and a simple cleaning of the outer contacts and a contact cleaner spray solved my problem after installing a new fuel pump. Needless to say I didn't really need a new pump as I had tested the old one and it worked fine. But at 305,000 miles I'm not going to reset it. The machine runs a little better with the new pump. As for my assessment, this is the complete lack of any important information about the installation. The instructions in the box were for a general replacement in the tank and as you all know this is built into the frame. The pump itself seems high quality and I love the Bosch parts and the fuel injection on my truck was absolutely bulletproof. Buy this pump and follow these instructions!
