I used these with 12" x 24" porcelain tiles. When installed, they were extremely easy to use. I probably used a lot more than I needed, but it was a small fraction of the total bathroom renovation cost. It shouldn't have been something that would break my budget. Others have complained that the heads don't break after installation, but I've only had one fall so far (and that was the one my daughter kicked). Just remember to leave the red tops during the kick. I finished laying the tile around 9pm and didn't want to mess with it the next night so I let the floor dry for about 36 hours before I started chipping the tile. I have two tips: 1) Kick them according to the layout. Your instinct will be to push them perpendicular to the grout line, but that won't work, they will just bend. 2) Put on the bottom register cover first. I had to dig up a few. :-) Overall a great product.
