They were very helpful and did exactly what I needed. I replaced the old brass hinges from the 1970's with new oil rubbed bronze hinges. Even though the new hinges were exactly the same size (3 1/2" corners 1/4" radius) and fitted perfectly into the grooves on the door and door frame, my doors now didn't close properly. Whenever I tried to close one, it wanted to spring open a little. Eventually I found that the old hinges were thicker (1/8β³) than the new ones (3/32β³). New hinges are usually made of thinner metal. All I needed was one of those hinge spacers JUST under the hinge on the side of the jamb and the "Viola!" problem was solved. One door even had an issue with "rubbing at the top" when closing and I only used one washer on the bottom hinge and no more rubbing! I highly recommend them for solving problems with your door, especially if you are working on an old house with old doors and hardware. New paint, handles and hinges (and those seals of course!) and my doors look and work like new!
