I bought a pair of these to save energy and not turn on the air conditioning/heating unnecessarily. (I have a window unit that has a notoriously inaccurate built-in thermometer). The full digital display is easy to read from close range, they are responsive to their surroundings and appear to be quite accurate. Now when the room starts to heat up, I can get ahead of the game and turn on the air conditioning. When I first opened the box I was expecting something much larger - this one fits easily in the palm of your hand. But the large font on the display seems to compensate for this. The battery life is also decent.
