Review on πŸ”§ Bahco 141 Universal Pipe Wrench, 11-Inch: Top-rated versatile plumbing tool for all pipe types by Wei Fan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for me, but not for everyone.

Takes some getting used to, but now a pipe wrench for most applications. I'm a novice plumber and needed pipe wrenches of various sizes. Based on the reviews I went with a Swedish style wrench. Not everyone will like this key. The master plumber I work for, who is of Swedish descent, doesn't bother, but interestingly may hire him. Pros: It's steel but lightweight, feels lighter than traditional aluminum wrenches. The head is smaller and narrower than a typical installation wrench, allowing it to work through tight fittings or bottlenecks where a traditional wrench cannot. The threaded rod and nut adjust the wrench much faster than a traditional screw adjustment. The wrench looks like pliers. The hardest thing is that you don't have to squeeze both handles together during use, just push down on the rear handles. However, squeezing both handles together provides additional support for closed tight fittings. Despite its appearance, it does not replace pliers, but can be used as such in many cases. Flat jaws are great for straightening curved spill pans, saw blades, and other small items. Cons: Handles are not very thick and durable. You can't add a tube at the end for extra torque. I stepped on the curved rear handle on some tricky hardware and didn't bend or break the key, but be careful not to kick it. I usually use a standard pipe wrench for exceptionally tight fittings. Holding the jaws with one hand takes practice and isn't always easy when the wrench isn't holding something. It will not replace a traditional pipe wrench 3% of the time. I would recommend purchasing this wrench if you want a lightweight tool that can open closed fittings and be quick to adjust. I wouldn't recommend this tool to those who don't want to carry around extra tools or learn a new tool.
