Don't be fooled if you happen to be reading the first disc you insert. I tried 5 Blu-ray Discs with this drive and it could only read 3 of them. . For the other two, it kept turning itself off after working for a few seconds. I was also only able to get this drive to work on my Windows desktop. On my Macbook Pro and my Razer laptop running Linux, it started spinning, then restarting, shutting down after a few seconds, and then booting up again, in an endless loop of uselessness. My guess is that it couldn't draw enough current to keep running, or that it wasn't managing the power properly and was trying to use more than it could to read certain drives. I've tried it on a Mac with USB-C, on my Razer laptop with both USB-C and a USB-3 adapter, and on my desktop with a USB-3 adapter.
