I bought this tool after using one of their crappy crafting tools for a few years and then briefly trying a slightly inferior model from the same company. I love pyrography and underestimate how good a tool can be. I did a lot of research and thought I would need a more powerful model, but this is enough. The handles are really comfortable to hold. They get a little warm but don't cause any discomfort. I like that you can connect two at the same time. After just a few projects, I'll always have my favorite nib loaded in one pen, then switch to a different nib as needed, alternating power between the two. I didn't know coasters were so necessary. . I put small sponges in bowls and keep them moist. I regularly wipe debris off a damp sponge and also dab the tip of the pen after turning it off so it cools faster. It's not strictly necessary, the holders hold the handles at a safe angle so they don't touch anything and can safely heat or cool in place. Handles heat up so fast! I used to have to turn on the power 10 minutes before starting a project, after which I had to take regular breaks to allow the instrument to warm up after particularly intense passages. These pens heat up quickly and stay hot for fast, accurate piercing. I'm so excited to explore my skills with this new machine. The last few days have been fun, I think the more I experiment the better things get.
