These blinds are lightweight yet strong enough. They look like faux wood, so once properly primed, painted, and hung around the house, they look like real wood. Installation requires holding the blinds in place, drilling a 1/4" diameter hole in the shutters and about 2.5" in the house, then driving in the supplied white anchors/bolts. The anchors are plastic with a fairly large button head that is visible once installed. They have "teeth" that grip when installed to prevent them from being pulled out. I was expecting a mounting system that sits flush with the fastener so I could fill, sand and paint the screw to make the screw invisible, but that's not the case. Once installed, the white "button" will still be visible at the end, so it's important to measure and space them evenly across the film so they're visually balanced.
