Thin blinds

These blinds are thin plastic (not as thick as I have at home) supposedly not paintable, I sanded their smooth surface and roughened the plastic and painted them the same color as my others shutters, and the paint seems to be holding up really well. I installed them in my extension in the utility room which is a different size to the rest of my house, you can't tell them apart and they look pretty good.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • ill thought out

Great for second story app

We used them on the second floor and they look great. If they were prominently placed on the ground floor I would be less enthusiastic. You get what you pay for: they're inexpensive, and up close they obviously look like it. It's not that they look bad - it's just that it's obviously a pretty cheap plastic product; few people will mistake it for a real tree. However, most people will not notice this level of detail unless they are perfectionists or have personal experience with blinds. If…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad

They are a little big

I ordered two sets of 12 inch wide blinds to cover two adjacent windows. The distance between these two window frames is pretty much exactly 24 inches, maybe 24 1/8 inches at most. After I started measuring things, I found that the blinds are actually 12 3/16" to 12 1/4" wide at the mounting surface (see attached photo). I can get it working, but it will take a lot more creativity and "engineering" than I planned. However, I have already installed a set of 15 inch blinds on another window…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Clarity

Good value for money

These blinds are lightweight yet strong enough. They look like faux wood, so once properly primed, painted, and hung around the house, they look like real wood. Installation requires holding the blinds in place, drilling a 1/4" diameter hole in the shutters and about 2.5" in the house, then driving in the supplied white anchors/bolts. The anchors are plastic with a fairly large button head that is visible once installed. They have "teeth" that grip when installed to prevent them from being…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick guide

No internal structural frame!

First, the product arrived on time. Arrived new and undamaged. So what are the reasons for my 3 star rating that you are probably thinking of? My 3 stars are for the actual product. I will explain. I bought a set as a test to replace the set in the back of my studio building - I want to replace all the blinds in this building BUT I will not be going ahead with this particular shade! When removing my old blinds on a test window, I noticed that the old set was attached with two small hinges each.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn
