Great tool - paint sprayer

I use this for outdoor concrete slabs. It is a very rough surface that looks like pebbles and has an artificial wood texture, and the house is big. I apply a primer and two top coats. There are millions of gaps between artificial shingles - from tiny to 1/4 inch. This atomizer turned out to be a wonderful tool. I tried a roller and brush and it took an hour to do what takes seconds (and that's no exaggeration). ) with this machine. And the spray results look way better than the segment I ran. If properly prepared I could spray one coat all over the outside of the house in a long day. It's difficult, tedious and time-consuming to prepare, but the payback comes in quick and even coverage once you start spraying. Masking, masking off the areas where you don't want the paint to be, is also time consuming and tedious. Masking windows and doors is not too difficult. I tried the concealer gun from 3M and in my opinion it's one of those "too good to be true" things and not worth the surface. Then I folded back the free edge of the tape and unrolled the plastic wrap along the exposed edge of the tape. 3M has a good tape - I've used several 72" rolls and one 99" roll for very tall sliding doors and the like. If you have a lot of outdoor masking work to do, watch a video of a professional masking the soffits; this is the most laborious and extensive part of the work. Use personal protective equipment precautions. You inhale particle colors when you don't have a mask, they are very good and inevitable. I have found that a good mask and eye protection are essential. Check the sprayer size tip recommended by the paint manufacturer and buy a spray tip of that size - it may not match the size that comes with the sprayer. Paint manufacturers supply technical specifications for their products with spray tip size, drying time, overcoating time, etc.; Search the internet for datasheets for the specific inks you plan to use. Choosing the correct spray nozzle size is important.- Carefully follow the machine cleaning instructions. The first time I used it I missed a step and it took me time on subsequent cleanups to correct that mistake.- People love to tell you how to spray. overlaps. When to pull the trigger. When to release the trigger. Maintain the correct distance from the surface. I will say that. Learning to spray is like learning to roll the dice - you just have to jump in and try. Spraying will come to mind over time, and quality paint on rough surfaces means more freedom for the student. Spraying on smooth surfaces is more difficult to control; So maybe save the garage door for last. Start with less visible surfaces (e.g. the back of a house). I've noticed that even professionals aren't always successful. I would suggest watching some spray videos, but focus your research on making the prep easy and efficient because this research will end up saving you more time, nerves, and money. roll over the surface with a roller). I know a pro who does this rigorously and gets incredible results. I tried it on my house and the back didn't look as good as if the surface was spray coated. So maybe try it on an inconspicuous spot and decide if it's really worth it. I could see that rollback is important on smoother surfaces to smooth out blur.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • I don't like it very much, everything is fine
