The on/off switch is now about 3 inches from the lamp itself (instead of the USB end). The glue isn't very strong, but a small drop of glue (many brands) and the problem was solved. In an area where I needed bright light, I don't often use the dimming function. The same switch is simply swiped with a finger in a circular motion, either clockwise to lighten or counterclockwise to darken. Very easy. I didn't want to use any of my USB ports so I used the USB to connect from my old phone and it worked great.
