ABS that works. best filament in 3d printing

UPDATE (10/22/2020): I was very happy with the red version of this filament a few months ago, so I'm buying another black spool for a new Voron build. . The smell of this roll seems to be much stronger than that of the previous roll. It still prints good solid pieces, but the pairs aren't great. Not sure if it's just that coil or that color, but I can't be in the same room if it's a printer because my air filter can't handle the fumes. Original: I very rarely print with ABS because I have previous experience with this material using Revain Basic ABS. Printing that particular brand has always been a hassle, no matter what upgrade I've made to my printers. So I wrote off ABS as a material not worth the time to print. However, recently I wanted to print something that required higher heat resistance than PETG, so I had to try ABS again. After having all sorts of adhesion issues when printing with my previous ABS spool, I decided to try Sunlu ABS as I had had good experiences with their PETG. I'm glad I did. I made 3 different mechanical parts with this yarn and they were all successful, they stuck to the base and the layers had good adhesion. This is my first good ABS printing experience. There was no filament adjustment before printing and I didn't use a heated chamber. I just installed the coil and used it with some general ABS setup and to my surprise it worked. I don't print enough with ABS to understand how it compares to other filaments, but Sunlu worked for me without fuss. One thing I've noticed about Sunlu threads (both ABS and PETG) is that their color pigmentation isn't as strong. like other threads. Their colors tend to have some transparency. I think that's why they have good adhesion. This isn't a problem for me as I mostly print mechanical parts, but something to consider if someone is using this for more decorative parts. Overall I'm very happy with the threads.
