These cam buckle straps are durable and easy to use. Ignore reviews of them slipping or having no "holding power". It is likely that these people inserted the strap into the buckle incorrectly. Check out another reviewer's helpful video. If you look at the end of the buckle and press the button, the "teeth" are on the upper "jaw". Do not insert the end of the long strap into an open jaw. Instead, insert it from the back so that the end of the strap comes out of your jaw when you press the button. Push the button and pull the strap until the jaw bites the middle of the strap. When you need to use the strap, press the button and adjust the distance between the hooks. When both hooks are connected, tighten the strap by pulling on the end of the long strap that has no hook. A note: the hooks can be bent more to better stay in place while the user tightens the strap. Overall they work great for me. I recommend them.
