Review on Dexcom G4,G5,G6 Sticky Patch 25 Adhesive Patches for Optimal Wearability by Jay Arnold

Two of my 10 year olds have type 1 diabetes and both wear a Dexcom G6 meter. At the recommendation of her endocrinologist, we place her CGM sensors on the back of her shoulders. Without these sticky pads, your CGM sensors wouldn't last the full 10 days they're designed to last, including the sailing season. Full Disclosure - I also use a layer of Skin-Tac to make sure everything stays in place. I have tried other adhesive patches in combination with Skin-Tac and can say without a doubt that these are the best CGM patches. The patch must be positioned correctly before laying the other half. I never had to start over because the patch stuck to itself. The cut-out for the CGM sensor is the perfect size and the elasticity makes it easy to fit around the sensor and transmitter. The steps I take are: 1) Clean the back of your hand, including the area the patch is touching (or anywhere else). You intend to place the CGM Sensor with the Transmitter) using a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. Leave to dry completely. 2) Apply a thin layer of Skin-Tac to the same area. 3) Immediately attach/insert the CGM Sensor, then snap the transmitter into place according to Dexcom's instructions. 4) Peel off half of the tape. Apply liner and apply to skin (I do this asap while Skin-Tac is still wet.) 5) Remove second half of liner and apply to skin 6) Gently apply band-aid in circular motions 2-3 times rub to ensure maximum adhesion. Removing these stains is made easier with Uni-Solve Adhesive Remover. Wet the patch and leave it on for 5-7 minutes, then slowly remove everything. Pain free for my kids. You can also remove patches without this product; We've found it's best to do this after a bath or shower while the patch is still damp. Make no mistake, these really are the best CGM sticky patches!
