I used to use pumice stones for cleaning and bought them as the price was good compared to the hardware store brand. When the box was opened, some of the sticks were already broken off at the base and some tips. I had a past return period so I decided to make the best of it. Pumice is much less dense and very brittle. The pumice stone chipped and peeled off the handle in use and it can be seen that the pumice stone is a cheap composite and of very poor quality. I use shards and have to clean by hand without using a stick that has come loose from the pumice stone. I had no idea that pumice stone could be of poor quality. I'll go with the hardware brand as it's a waste of money.
