Review on 🍵 Whistling Tea Pot, 64-Ounce, Olive - Oggi by Kristen Lopez

During a recent power outage, all of our fancy coffee brewing equipment, from electric coffee grinders to coffee machines and kettles, became temporarily unusable. Luckily we have a gas stove and although the 'spark' igniters were off we were able to light the burner with a match to heat the water for the French press. That's when we realized that all we needed to boil water were our pots and pans, and using a pot was dirty work at best since they weren't meant for watering. When the electricity came back, we started looking for an alternative and ordered an Oggi whistling teapot. The Oggi teapot is very beautiful and quite well made compared to others in the local trade. Stainless steel is used throughout and the 'fit and finish' is excellent - the bottom seam is very strong, the cap fits snugly and the whistle/cap does not wobble on the spout like we've seen on some others. The handle curves over the pot and lid, minimizing the risk of burning your ankle. As the handle sits just above the kettle (as with almost every kettle) the heat coming off the stove warms it up, although we didn't find it warmed up uncomfortably. And that whistle - every time our Oggi Whistling Tea Pot calls, I'm transported back to my childhood and the kitchen where my parents' daily morning cup of coffee was made. I have to admit, since we got our Oggi, our more modern coffee machine has been a waste of time. Convenience is good, but there is an element of convenience in using a whistling kettle that justifies the small amount of extra time involved. We are excited about this product.
