Kettle in teapots

I wanted light blue but ended up with black. Turn off the burner before removing the kettle from the burner. This can apply to all kettles but you will burn yourself from the steam so be careful with the steam from the spout. It's been working fine for me so far. I wanted another, more expensive one, and this was the color I wanted. Have fun shopping; You are a buyer!

Got a chrome finish instead but VERY HAPPY

Funny when I ordered this kettle it was only available with charcoal for me and I was wondering what the charcoal would look like? But I needed a kettle as my old one had a handle that fell off (no longer usable!) so I took it. It arrived and it was chrome... TADA! I wanted that anyway! So the teapot fairies must have been listening. Seriously this is a high quality well made teapot and I couldn't be happier with it. The handle is comfortable to hold, and a whistle from a distant room tells you

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent

  • Requires an outlet

Dangerous spills Suitable for cookware

When I received this kettle the first thing I naturally wanted to do was test it by boiling some water. Almost immediately I saw that it was leaking at the bottom seam long before the water boiled. I then got a spare, this time filling it with cold water and setting it on a glass plate to check for leaks before even putting it on the stove. After a few minutes it went on just like the first time (see photo). It may seem like a quality product, but a boiling water leak? The seller and/or…

Handle gets very hot

Light and inexpensive kettle. It looks good but you get what you pay for the quality. Everything worked out with the whistle and opening and releasing the spout, but it boiled over forever. However, basically my problem is that the pen is not heat resistant as they claim. On the regular sized burner it was too hot to even touch, on the smallest burner (which greatly increased cooking time) the handle was less hot but still awkward to pour. The problem lies in the small size of the kettle…

Super cute teapot!

We like the color and features of this kettle. It heats up quickly, has a nice pipe, and we love the color the most. It looks great just sitting on the stove. The buttons open and close with a nice "pop" and are easy to use. We're a bit disappointed that there were a couple of very small missing spots on the gray trim, but they're not very noticeable (just look like black spots) and luckily they're both on the same side, so we're just looking away from this side. Another thing I didn't like was

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything is fine

Good quality, easy to use, loud whistle. The hinged lid with a button stays open when you press it down and closes with a push button that can be pushed out from below. The plastic handle warms up but doesn't get hot and is large enough for a good grip. This kettle heats up nice and fast on our induction hob but makes a lot of 'squeaking' noises like the damn thing is about to fall apart at the seams. This is of course not the case and this only happens when we turn on the "Power Boost"…

  • Quality construction
Cons
  • confusing

Don't burn yourself with it! But the handle gets hot

We had a recently bought kettle that LOOKS GREAT, but neither my wife nor I would admit to burning our hands on it (which doesn't whistle btw). A handle with too much exposed metal and a narrow gap to grip without burning your fingers on the round pot lid. or the amount of hot steam when it came out. I liked trying. The pipe pot by Oggi is a GREAT design! The handle is very well insulated, but a word of warning: it's still pretty hot, if not too hot to pick up, but use an oven mitt anyway. The…

Good kettle but mine doesn't whistle well.

This kettle is decent for its size and the capacity is as advertised. It works well on both my electric stove and induction cooktop and heats up at the times I expect from both. Unfortunately, mine doesn't whistle loudly - it just wheezes and spits. I need a loud whistle as I don't hear very well and am easily distracted. I know you can't fill the kettle to the spout and I was careful not to get the lid with the whistling spout wet - you still can't hear it from the next room and boiled for…

Short, tough, perfectly serviceable

During a recent power outage, all of our fancy coffee brewing equipment, from electric coffee grinders to coffee machines and kettles, became temporarily unusable. Luckily we have a gas stove and although the 'spark' igniters were off we were able to light the burner with a match to heat the water for the French press. That's when we realized that all we needed to boil water were our pots and pans, and using a pot was dirty work at best since they weren't meant for watering. When the…
