I am very satisfied with this night vision scope. It works well. I like the 2x as it offers low magnification but maintains a very wide field of view. It's perfect for forest walks or exploring your wooded garden. First generation night vision works great with IR illumination. I've seen people complain about focus. Remember that during the day you will need to focus the eyepiece (where your eye is looking) on the wall in your house with the front cover still on the unit. Once you focus on it, you never have to change it. However, depending on how far you look, you'll keep your eye on the large ring at the end of the device. The large ring can be moved with little effort. The small ring near the eye dangles and moves slightly. Once I got the little ring in focus, I made a mark with a marker so I always knew exactly where the little ring should be before I went out at night. 5 stars for me.
