I was a little taken back by the price of this knife set initially but quickly realized this is one of those things that "you get what you pay for". Over the last decade, I've purchased several knife sets for my wife and they never lasted long. Either they would go dull very quickly or because they were made with two pieces, they'd end up breaking in certain situations.These knives are forged from one piece of metal and have stood up for a while now with no signs of dulling or rusting. As the instructions indicate, we do not wash these in the dishwasher but rather hand wash and dry them immediately. And holy cow they are SHARP! It doesn't matter what we use them on, they cut so clean quick. Frozen chicken, vegatables, steaks, potatoes.it doesn't matter. Every cut is clean and precise.We have not had the need to use the sharpener but I'm looking forward to see how it works when it comes that time.A little expensive but well worth the money!
