I've been in the food industry for twenty years and I'm familiar with stainless steel. wife always liked nonstick; So we stuck to her preferences instead. Bought this pan for my mother in law who always used single layer teflon pans until the coating burned off and fried so much the pan's only good thing is to burn everything in it. . I took great pleasure in throwing away two pans that weren't even recyclable (good for nothing). I love the frigidaire pan. It heats evenly, cooks exceptionally well over low heat, and if you know what you're doing you won't burn what's in the pan, even on gas. Food mixes well and rises without sticking. The carrying handle is comfortable and overall the weight isn't great. The lid is well made and a nice addition. The pot rinses very well (don't forget to season the pot before first use), and as long as you don't pour cold water into it - hot - after the burner doesn't deform. This is a very good frying pan and since my wife regularly throws away our non-stick coatings I will be buying one of these. My only complaint is that Frigidaire doesn't offer a full (12, 10, 8 inch) matching set. There is no reason to invest a lot of money and time in search of an "eternal" Teflon nonstick pan. It does not exist. Buy this item once and it will be all you will ever need.
