Review on Kivors Long Neck Electric Arc Lighter - Rechargeable, Windproof Plasma Beam Lighter, Flameless for Grills, Stoves, Candles by Anita Fernandez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good lighter. I would buy this again.

Benefits: - Flexible enough to get into tight spots - Easy to use safety switch - Easy to operate with the push of a button (easier than most butane gas switches) - Quiet - No butane - Attractive design - Fast charging (1 - 2 hours) - Pleasant to the touch. Cons: - The kill button may be an issue for some with kids. expected. It works well. So far I've been lighting candles and it takes a little getting used to using a traditional lighter as the lighting location is physically closer to the head (more between the two wires, not in front). That's not a problem, just a difference that takes some getting used to. Many of these arc lighters have reviews of the noises they make, with many being described as piercing, howling, etc. It makes noise, but it's like a hiss, pop, pop, rattle. It looks like an arc (shocking as it is). Yes, it was a play on words. We've used this on our dog with no effect, and neither children nor adults seem to hear or notice anything out of the ordinary. build a fireplace. We haven't been able to use it for this yet but I don't see any issues with it as the range is significant and very similar to our butane lighters. As for size, it's a bit shorter than our butane lighters with a reach of about 0.5-1 inch. You also get a bit more range when the flame is out of the head, so the overall length advantage is closer to 1-1.5 inches. However, unlike our butane counterparts, this block has a flexible shaft. This means that it's much easier to light something within something (think of a candle in a glass container or a medium-sized wax candle in a group of 10, 20 or more on a birthday cake). The button to turn on the device is very convenient to use. There is a safety switch that disables the button. This is a nice feature, although it feels a little cheap. Flipping the switch isn't difficult by any means, which means it can be a problem for kids who can bypass this safety mechanism. However, I prefer the overall ease of use over the unlikely potential child issue. We teach our children not to play with certain things because they are dangerous for adults or need supervision and they respect that. If your children are old enough to intentionally disobey you when playing with a lighter, they can probably bypass any parental controls. The hook is a nice feature, although we don't use it since the device fits in a desk drawer. Charging is easy, although the USB adapter is only included, so you'll have to plug it directly into the USB socket or look for an additional AC-to-DC converter. It's not a big problem, but it might be for some. The battery is not replaceable. I wanted this to be a waste reduction feature. Butane lighters are mostly disposable (especially long range lighters) and if you can find something refillable it won't last much longer than a refill or something (unless it's a good lighter, but they're usually cigarettes or cigars). stylish lighters, not extended range ones). There is a screw on the back of the device next to the handle. This may allow the back cover to be removed to access the battery, but I haven't researched this yet. This device doesn't require butane in a closet drawer, which makes me feel a little better.
