Review on ๐Ÿง‚ Peugeot Classic Fidji Salt Mill with Olive Wood Finish by Amy Blackmon

Beautiful and functional

I really like this salt mill. I bought a proper pepper grinder and they are both beautiful and work perfectly. I bought them separately and was happy to see that the logo on the salt grinder handle is white and the logo on the pepper grinder is black. This is a subtle but easy way to tell the difference between the two. I've read some reviews mentioning that the grinder can't grind larger salt crystals, but I find this to be a simple solution: when refilling the grinder, the knob at the top, which also serves to adjust the roughness, is unscrewed and removed. This weakens the grinding mechanism at the bottom of the crusher, allowing larger salt rocks to fall into the grinding mechanism, causing the mechanism to jam in the very coarse grind mode. Then the collar turns back, but it doesn't turn as tight as before due to a blockage that sets the new grind to a very coarse grind. The trick is to simply turn the grinder upside down at this point, which will allow the salt stones to re-enter the grinder from the grinder, and screw the knob in more tightly. This closes the mechanism and provides a finer grind. My aunt has a Peugeot pepper grinder that worked so well I've had it on my wish list for two years. I don't know why I was so attracted to it but I finally bought a set and I'm very happy with it. Highly recommended.
