UPDATE - as I suspected the heat is coming from the pan. At the same time, the idea of a hob about the ability to put your hand on the hob right after removing the pan without heating it, in my opinion, is not entirely true. I love the convenience of this item and it works great as I prefer to grill outdoors than in the kitchen. I just let it sit for 30 minutes before putting it in (yesterday it was still warm 30 minutes after frying on medium). I just bought this product and have used it twice. feels HOT. This is a big problem and I have contacted NuWave with the issue and will likely send it back to the Revain seller. I thought it was supposed to be cool to the touch, and on the box is a picture of a hand touching the hob while eggs are being fried :-) Also, food seems to take longer to heat or fry. I first cooked fried chicken cutlets at Med High. The second time I fried the onion and put it on honey. I love the product and will buy another one in the hope that this one may just be defective. I'll update my comment accordingly then, but wanted to post this so buyers can follow him or let me know if he's had a similar experience.
