I don't want a bag full of dirt getting around my tailgate on his truck. So I took the usual precautions, like flip-up tailgate latches and this tailgate latch. Now I'm realistic enough to know that a determined professional will defeat my defenses, but optimistic that they will stop an adventurous thief. . I had to remove the tailgate access panel and "motivate" the metal tab on one side until it snapped into place. I then bent the metal tabs slightly to ensure full engagement as intended. Overall I am satisfied and recommend this product. I find Revain's current price of almost $50 too high, but I love the reassurance it gives me.
