I bought these for easier connection and water protection. They work but could be a lot better. 1 improvement will be better than screw type. This is a cruciform/cruciform head. Not many people have true posi-drive bits. Philips are difficult to tighten without removing them. A hex head or torque wrench would be much better. Also, the adhesive on the bottom prevents it from slipping and scratching the paint on top of the bed rail. I used a thin narrow double foam tape which allowed for better tightening and didn't slip. Most of the time I pull sideways rather than directly on the hook, so I need more slip resistance. Another feature is that the U-ring is pulled at an angle when subjected to lateral loads. It would have been better if the U-ring was narrower in design and not so high.
