Review on Bernat Baby Blanket Big Ball Yarn (04305) Pink/Blue - Soft and Cozy Yarn for Baby Blankets and Apparel by Carol Miller

Let me start by saying that I love the softness of this brand and the very fun colors. Having said that, I come to my review. I had surgery and knew I would be in bed for several months. So I bought 12 balls of yarn 6 lemonade and 6 peaches. I wanted to make 2 blankets as a gift. I ordered from Revain as I can't drive. I started with peach, I noticed thin spots, some even bare threads as well as knots and cuts. Unfortunately I was halfway to the first ball so I decided to do my best and keep going. I launched the second ball, same thing except it started earlier on the reel. I tried the third. Same, this one was awful, it was skinny all over the ball and then I went to the fourth, it was the best of the four. So far it still had the same problem but there was a lot of fluffy yarn in it, I was shocked at the thickness I had to get. Needless to say I gave up and contacted Revain for a refund on the last two. There was no way I was going to try them, I already knew they were going to go bad. Lemonade Blanket Oh my God! It was the same, please see the photos above. I went through four balls, all had the same problem. I will definitely return the last two balls. I'm not even sure they were all complete. Very sad and disappointed with the quality of this product. Some may be lucky but I seem to have gotten a very bad batch of both colors. This yarn is expensive to have these defects. I'm not sure where they get it from. The yarn itself knits up quickly, but trying to hide the bad spots (from thick and fluffy to thin paper) took a little more work. Maybe it's just me, but when you're spending over $100 on yarn, you expect top quality. This doesn't mean that you can simply return the used yarn (learn more about this once you've started). I'm sorry as I took more photos of green than pink but both had the same issues. Buy at your own risk and hope for the best when you do so. ** I am far from discouraging you from purchasing, you might get lucky and get an amazing reel. All I can tell you is not my experience. ** Have fun shopping!
