The straps are very light and the hook at one end is galvanized, which doesn't last 3 months in salt water. I bought these to replace 5 year old super heavy duty straps with zinc plated hooks that are now starting to rust. The straps are good quality so I like to keep them to myself and use them for other purposes besides a 26ft aluminum boat tie down. no way. The thin straps are also very long, which can be ok in some cases, but they need to be cut and soldered at the ends to be used as a boat tether. The only reason for my 3 star rating is because they are advertised as "marine grade".
