I have an old MacBook Air with 2 USB 3 ports and have been juggling USB plugs the whole time. This small active 4 port hub was just what I needed. My backup drive and headphones are no longer attached to my computer. Now there's only one cable to unplug from the computer when I need to use it outside of my desktop. Pushbutton switches eliminate the need to physically connect and disconnect device cables. The device and its power supply don't generate any noticeable heat, and I don't have to worry about how many amps I'm drawing from my computer's USB ports. There is even a USB socket for charging.
