Review on πŸ’– Amour Crochet Hook Set by Clover - 10 Sizes by Barbara Simmons

Like Magic

Let me tell you a little story. I have quite a few handy hooks from another brand and I think they're fantastic. I was on a trip one day and needed a hook size that I didn't have, so I went to the nearest craft store and was disappointed that they didn't have my brand. I bought the Armor crochet thinking there must be a better way than skipping the evening crochet/leisure time. The armor hook was awesome. It slipped through the stitches like a hot knife through butter, and the old-fashioned wool just slid over the hook like silk. I did simple jobs so I mostly watched TV, crocheted at a leisurely pace and didn't pay much attention to my progress. When the news ended I was shocked to see how much was done. I knitted at least as fast as when I was really concentrating on my work. The only problem was that when I got home my once precious hook set seemed worse. I could feel the yarn dragging on the hook in a way I had never noticed before and realized the friction made my movements less fluid than with the Armor hook. When I switched back to the armor hook, there was a noticeable improvement in speed because the stutter in my rhythm was gone. I've never been a speed freak, but it was great to suddenly be able to do more without extra effort. I thought I found a magic catch. The only thing that made sense was buy the whole set. So, here's the real review: these hooks will ruin everyone else's for you. They're extremely comfortable and stable in a pencil-like grip, and Clover's hook shape is much easier to work with than other hook brands. They offer incredibly smooth crocheting, allowing even complex strands to be sewn together in one go. These hooks allow me to crochet faster and with less hand fatigue than experience suggests. In short, I just love them. I wish I could get a little over 6mm. I recently did a quick project using chunky yarn and after a quick look at the recommended hook size (in plastic) I decided it was best to use my 6mm armor and just smooth out the thickness variance with extra stitches. That I'd rather do the extra work just to use one of these hooks pretty much goes into how much I love armor. I've decided it's better Using your 6mm armor and making up for the thickness discrepancy with extra stitches.
