Review on Gates 38382 Belt Tensioner by Chris Hernandez
It's a belt tensioner and it works perfectly.
I installed this Gates belt tensioner on my 2005 Dodge Durango Limited 5.7. I thought the stock tensioner was defective since the SUV has 130,000 miles, but it turns out that either the pulley or the A/C compressor was making noise. This tensioner works well and the Durango hasn't had any issues in the past few months.
