My last station had an accident it didn't survive so I went on a search. This arrived the next day and I had no problem with the remote being recognized by the base (apparently my instructions have been updated to require the batteries to be installed in the remotes before the batteries are installed in the base). . The devices didn't sync instantly, but within 30 seconds the base station recognized the first device, and two more followed soon after. The 3 remotes were good, one outside on our patio, one in the garage and one downstairs. All of the remotes, when placed on the kitchen table, read within 1/2 degree Fahrenheit of each other. It takes some time for each remote control to respond to a significant change, e.g. B. when taken outside. My guess is that the thermal mass is enough for the temperature sensor to take some time to recognize the new conditions.
