This is a great item to learn and become familiar with. Just note that the board that comes with this kit is just a power board that supplies either 3 volts or 5 volts. This is not an Arduino board. The Project tutorials and guides you can get from their website use Arduino UNO boards. You will need an Arduino board to actually complete the project tutorials. If you're new to this and want to introduce yourself, your kids, or grandkids (etc.) to electronics, check out any local electronics store, reddit/r/AskElectronics, or search Reddit for other Arduino boards and breadboards .
