Review on 🔒 Master Lock - Trailer Locks, Universal Size - Fits 1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16" Couplers - Model #389DAT by Robert Jackson

I bought this item in October 2017 and used it for two winter seasons. The second season froze "tumbler" of the lock and could not be opened with a key. I used "antifreeze/key lube" to see if it would release the lock and turn the key. Nothing worked even after the lock was injected with grease and antifreeze. I had to remove the lock and after trying all the keys I had for the lock I stopped trying. The lock turned out to be a really "inflated” element, and I expected that cutting it off or tearing it off wouldn't be easy. With the lock in the position "shown in the hitch photo", I inserted a pry bar between the inside of the lock and the hitch. It took me less than 15 SECONDS to remove the lock by simply pushing the bar lightly. Pulling nails requires a lot more pressure. Item is GOOD! For a thief, the bright red sight of this lock would be a "screaming invitation" to steal this trailer. In this case, rather Airstream!
