This charming door knocker is suitable for indoor or outdoor use. The door to the master bedroom is positioned so that I don't hear it unless someone knocks on my door very hard when I'm in the bathroom, hanging clothes in one of the dressing rooms, or even when I'm in bed with the tv on or music is playing. Even with a strong knock when I turn on the music while hanging up the clothes, I don't always hear the door. With six children there is ALWAYS someone knocking on the door. I joked that I was going to install a doorbell in the master bedroom, but when I saw this adorable door knocker I was pretty serious about installing it on the master bedroom door. That was not a joke. My kids thought I was joking when I told them I put a knocker on the master bedroom door so I could hear them. It arrived today and I was amazed at the quality. It's a nice strong thing, charming and very decorative. It looks very nice on the door, located in an alcove leading to the master bedroom. While some might not like a bat on their front door as a knocker, I actually collect bats (not live ones, of course) so this is perfect for my bedroom door. My kids are happy because I can actually hear them knocking now. I'm happy because it's really cute and adds an extra touch to the decor of the alcove that leads to the master bedroom. Highly recommend for indoor or outdoor use. It's easy to install (about 10 minutes), definitely durable and good looking. The only thing to note is that it doesn't come with the hanging hardware, so it gets 4 stars instead of 5. You will need 3 screws to install this and the screws are visible so you should buy screws to match the finish.
