I received this unit this morning and am very satisfied. I ordered a longer (100mm) QR plate to replace the one that came with the kit. Mounts and balances my Canon 6D and Sigma 150-600C, everything is fine. I searched U-Tube for the proper balancing steps as I had no idea and there are no instructions on how to balance with a gimbal head. It takes trial and error to get it right, but once you've got it, it works great. I see no need to change a lube as some people say it is required. Mine is very smooth and offers enough resistance with the combination above. The workmanship is excellent, all buttons work effortlessly. A small nuance - the base, which is bolted to the tripod, is very narrow and slightly smaller in diameter than the pivoting part of the device. I tightened mine with a rubber band wrench, but what you really need is a very thin crescent shaped adjustable wrench. EDIT: IF YOU FULLY TIGHTEN THE SCREW AND TURN THE HEAD CLOCKWISE IT WILL TIGHTEN THE BASE WITHOUT A WRENCH. This is a Wimberley replica and this is how it mounts to a tripod. Overall I am very happy with this stabilizer.
