Poor quality belts, hoses and pulleys
Looks like the ends were just ripped off. Very torn. One end is cut at an angle, so it needs to be cut as well. I would happily pay more for a piece with a better fit and finish, but this is a race to the bottom. I went to a local auto parts store that also sells this Gates hose. He looked the same - also very poor quality.
