I have 1.5 ppm iron in my well water, mostly ferrous or pure iron, causing orange stains all over my bathtub, shower curtains, dishwasher and other appliances leaves. I also had strong manganese, magnesium, ca, silica, sodium, occasional odor (hydrogen sulfide?) and an unpleasant metallic taste in the water. I installed a 20" 5 micron sediment filter, this iron filter and a 20" carbon filter in series and I'm honestly blown away by the improvement in my water quality. No more smells, stains or bad taste. I'm so glad I tried this before I bought the backwash filter.
