nice thick thick yarn. I bought the black color and it's a deep, true black. The yarn is soft and the 6ply yarn is really high. I finished my project with a steamer after I finished it and now this is a great soft slouch hat. The only downside to yarn is that it can loosen up if you need to make a frog or work from the end. Weaving the ends was a bit tricky because I no longer worked with a single thread but with 6 separate threads that decided to separate. That was only a problem at the very end and didn't distract from the yarn or the project. I would definitely buy this brand again.
