All I had to drill was two holes for my fender exhaust port project and this 4" bit just pierced it through. It went through the jeep's fender fine, but when I started drilling the 3/32" thick stainless steel trim it snapped. It took half an hour to throw and little was done. Perhaps the hardest hole sounds, I've ever drilled, weird. I drill in stainless steel with other bits and even other Irwin bits all the time, but I've never had this kind of problem. Maybe it missed the heat treat process a bit. I'm sure it's fine with Wood or mild steel will handle it, but I don't recommend it for harder steels.
