For the last 3 years I have been using a 27 inch Asus monitor with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 to work with PTC Creo CAD. I love the size of this monitor but being a TN panel I find it tiring after a long day. My experience with IPS displays on several of my Chromebooks (HP Chromebook 11, Toshiba Chromebook 2, and Pixel) has shown me how much easier it is to view these IPS/PLS displays for long periods of time. This monitor dropped to mid $400s, I bought one. I connected this Asus to my Nvidia Quadro 5000 via Display Port and it looks and works great for me. Everything is looking good for my CAD work and I feel a lot better after a long day looking at this screen I had on my old monitor. I was a bit concerned that the Creo text and icons would be too small, but everything looks really good (albeit smaller) and I actually like that I can view more icons and tree items without expanding the menu or having to scroll the tree. as was all the connectivity options and the fact that all the different cables were included. I like being able to adjust the height which I couldn't with my old Asus. And the cheap built-in speakers actually sound OK (for system sounds). I really like that the frame around the screen is matte as my old monitor's glossy frame always showed the light reflection in the ceiling (very annoying). The anti-reflective coating (as opposed to a true matte screen) also works well. The only problem I had is a stuck (on red) pixel. I was hoping that it would resolve itself after a long few days, but unfortunately it didn't. I wouldn't worry too much about a pixel if it was in one of the corners, but this one is near the center of the screen, right at the level of my left eye. Despite its tiny size, I am constantly aware of this pixel; especially against the light background of Creo's main window. It was just too distracting for me so I decided to go back and see what happens. But I still love this monitor and hope the best with the new one. It actually amazes me that you can have almost 3.7 million pixels on a panel and only 1 bad one, but it's also crazy how noticeable that tiny pixel can be when it's right in the middle of the screen. For my specific needs this is a great monitor and I hope it will be with me for many years to come. If anyone has any Creo questions about this monitor I will be happy to answer them to the best of my ability. I will definitely update this review when I get a replacement monitor. there was a dull pixel in almost the same area as the original. However, this is only visible on a black background. Having never worked with a black background before, I decided to keep it rather than keep messing around with the exchange. Another thing I noticed now after using my replacement for a few days is that the fan on my first unit was very noisy. This new one is much quieter and the monitor seems to run cooler. I even did a test where I turned on the heat in my office and the fan was audible but not loud at all; even in a fairly hot environment.
