I don't know if that's how it was done and if everyone should do it, but once the foil was in the slit we couldn't get it out without turning the whole thing upside down. It seemed to get caught on something and had to be shaken to get it out. Also, the light came on immediately after putting the batteries in and there was no way to turn it off without completely removing the batteries. There is no switch. Someone said in Q&A that the light should go out when you pull the slider out, but it stayed on even when the slider wasn't in the slot. Needless to say, not worth the money and I'll be back.
