It only fits smaller corks that fit old soda bottles, larger corks get stuck in the plastic, we used large corks the last time we corked wine and used wine bottles seal very well. I am afraid these smaller caps will not fit wider bottle caps and may leak. Also, the tool doesn't fit the bottle snugly enough, so it moves around a lot while you're trying to drive the cork into the bottle. It can be a little tricky to align the cork correctly. Luckily I didn't need these plugs for a couple of months because they had a chemical smell that dissipated after sitting for those months. I think the smell came from the instruments themselves.
