Review on NEBO Transcend 1000-Lumen LED Headlamp Flashlight: 5 Modes, Rechargeable Head Lamp with Turbo Function & Adjustable Reflective Head Strap - Model 7001 by Tim Burns

Rating increased from 4 to 5 stars. The headlight control was a big issue for me, but after using it for a while I found that it goes up to "normal" when turned on; If you leave it on for about 10 seconds, a second touch of the switch will turn it off. If you use the switch before the 10 seconds are up, the light will change with each click until it goes off on the fourth click. I still don't like the band but the Slonik replacement band works great. The light is bright and evenly distributed across the diffuser pattern with no visible fringes I see. Despite the following issues, I plan to keep it due to the quality of the ambient light. BUT the way the switch works is just not intuitive. Sometimes it starts at a high setting (no turbo) and then decreases on subsequent activations. In other cases, it gets darker and lighter with each press of the button. I think the problem lies in how they implemented the memory function that turns the lamp on at the level it was last turned off, but it just doesn't make sense to think about it every time you turn it on and off. then again. After using this I'd rather start either high or low every time. A couple of times it wouldn't turn on when I first pressed the button and I had to wait a bit and then try turning it back on. I hope that doesn't mean the switch has already failed. The rigid mount has a ratcheting effect on the light's ribs, which keeps it exactly where you installed it relative to the mount. The strap is a weak point, however, as the weight of the lamp tends to pull the strap up to my eyebrows. Need a top strap! I use the original single strap with the Slonik replacement strap that has the top, but that greatly increased the cost of this lamp. The new strap works well to comfortably hold it in the right direction.
