I installed a luggage rack on my 2021 Rav4 Prime Toyota that came with a roof rack. It was quick and easy to install. I've only used it once so far. All metal parts and locking mechanisms are very durable. I was able to load and tie down my 16 foot fiberglass kayak very easily. Carrie and the kayak didn't move after they were loaded and strapped down. The armrests fold down so I can drive into garages without removing the pillars. The kayak must of course be removed. A small issue is the lack of rubber padding on the lower tailgate arms. I solved this problem by wrapping some rags around them. No damage to the kayak. The Rav4 Prime is a fairly large vehicle, but the lower arms can be positioned horizontally so the kayak can be placed on top of it without lifting it too high, and then adjusted at about a 45 degree angle to close before tightening fix. it is below.
