So I often had to drill holes in belts and other leather goods in my life. and finally settled on a good sharp drill as the best option. However, the results are small and often not very pleasant from a cosmetic point of view. I was working on some leather collars that I used for a project and I needed to modify them and put new holes in them and I wanted them to look professional. So on a whim I evaluated a leather punch and found this one. I wasn't expecting much at this price but I was willing to try. When it arrived I was amazed at the quality/reliability of this tool. I was expecting it to be fragile, but it's very durable and feels relatively heavy. It takes a pretty good grip to cut through thick leather (soft genuine leather dog collars), but it makes perfect cuts that look factory made. For what I do, this tool is perfect. If you work with leather for a living, there are sure to be better tools that are easier to use. But I promise you, you won't find a better tool for this price! I only wish I had found it sooner.
