I bought it because the distillate subscription is very expensive. Now I buy Earth2O steamed distilled water by the gallon and pay three times less! Also, one of the covers snaps into place the first time you use it. However, it doesn't snap into place immediately. I had to heat the lid in hot water and pry it open with a butter knife, but it didn't hurt. On first use I filled my 5 gallon bottle to the brim, snapped the cap on and placed it on the water dispenser. I had to force it because I had filled it too much and had to overcome the weight of the water in the transparent lid. The clear cap came off naturally to float in the bottle. This is normal because when the bottle is empty I take the cap off (lift it), pull the cap off and just put it back on. Next time I won't fill the jug to the brim. All in all, I'm very happy I made this purchase! Now I just need 4 more bottles to use the other caps :).
